So on Friday, June 13, 2014 I attended ME by the Sea. This was the first teacher conference I went to and I was amazed. This was the tenth year this conference took place and I have learned a few new tricks.

Who we are: Adam Melchor

What we did: I attended a variety of workshops from making fractions easier to understand to making ice cream to using educational interactive computer games.

Questions we have: Is this a type of conference that new or soon to be teachers attend? The answer is yes, not only does it give you a few ideas of what type of activities students are interested in, you can have a head start during the summer to prepare for fall.

Connections to Teaching: By making difficult concepts less intimidating, students do not have the mentality of struggling to learn, but instead have fun while learning. Not saying all classroom assignments should be activity after activity, but a little variety is a good.
